Sodium silicates in the form of granules, powder and liquid with four grades: Grade A, Grade B, Grade C and Grade D. Grade A has a higher total solid content with molecular weight and is superior compared to the others.

Industrial Uses

1 Detergent Manufacturing

Sodium Silicate is used in industries for producing several different types of detergent, due to its oil, grease removal and cleaning power. Since it is a buffering agent it helps in soil anti-redeposition and inhibiting the process of corrosion.

2 Cement Manufacturing

Also commonly known as 'water glass', Sodium silicate is also widely known for the synthesis of cement

3 Passive Fire Protectants

Sodium silicate is well-known for its fire retardant properties. In the presence of fire, sodium silicate will form foam-like crystals that help in forming an insulating barrier between the product and the flame, and will thus slow down the spread of fire.
